    Converting a video to play on an iPod

    You can put any Quicktime movie into iTunes U, however, these files may not play on an iPod. To play video on an iPod, it must be a .m4v video file. You can easily turn your video into an .m4v using the conversion process from within iTunes. Follow these easy steps to convert your video.


    1. Open the video in iTunes on your local computer.

    2. Highlight the file you want to convert and then choose convert for iPod from the Advanced menu:

    3. The file will begin to convert and you can check on the progress by clicking on the status button in the list on the left of the screen:

    4. Once the file is done converting, you will need to upload the file to your iTunes U course. To find where iTunes put the file on your computer, right click (PC) or control click (Mac) on the file and choose Show in Windows Explorer (PC) or Show in Finder (Mac). This will show you the location of the file on your computer.

    5. Log into your course on iTunes by going to http://itunes.wcu.edu and entering your Banner credentials.

    6. Navigate to your course in the iTunes U interface, and then choose Upload and Manage Files


    7. Upload the file, being sure to upload the converted version (it should be be named with a .m4v file extension)
